Prior to the arrival of the Covid 19 Pandemic, we were hoping to again run 4 events, the provisional planned dates for those were:- 11th Oct, 25th Oct, 15th Nov and the 29th November. Even with as optimistic an outlook as is possible, it would seem unlikely that the first 2 of these 4 dates are feasible. England Athletics are still finalising the guidance for Cross Country organisation, so we do not yet know the detail of what will be required to ensure that events get granted a licence and can happen.

What is clear is that mass starts will not be allowed and all events must comply with Government social distancing guidelines in force at the time. Once the guidelines are finalised and issued, SYCAA will then have to decide – in conjunction with the venue or land owners – if the venues available to us can host an event which is Safe and Covid secure. It is likely that some venues will not be large enough to allow the normal competitor numbers to take part. We will try and keep you updated as we work through these next few weeks and confirm what options are open to us.
