Once again, there will be FOUR outdoor events focusing on U12s and U14s.

All events will be held on Friday evenings, starting at 6pm and finishing by 8:30 pm.

The events are open to members of the five track and field clubs affiliated to SYCAA – although there may be a small number of guest places available, if numbers allow. The poster below explains which events are scheduled for each event.
U14s are defined as (typically) athletes in school years Y7 and Y8.
U12s are defined as (typically) athletes in school years Y5 and Y6.  We will also take entries from Y4, provided the athlete is 9 years old on or before the day of competition.

There will also be an open Steeplechase at the first two events, exclusively for U17 men (i.e. school years Y10 and Y11).  This is to allow opportunity for that age group to achieve a qualification time for English Schools, as the age group changes mean the distance is significantly different in other fixtures (2000m instead of 1500m).

SYCAA clubs whose athletes compete at a particular fixture must provide 4 graded officials – 2 field, 1 track, 1 timekeeper. Failure to do this will mean the number of athletes that club may declare will be limited to 6.

Entry and event declaration will be organised in the same way that the SY Indoor Series, i.e. athletes acquire a number from their club representative and that number will enable each athlete to do up to 3 events maximum at each of the four fixtures.
The clubs issue the numbers, submit the event declarations, and pay SYCAA for the numbers issued and sold. Once a number has been declared, it must be paid for, whether the athlete competes or not.
All club representatives must declare their athletes by the preceding Tuesday to allow sufficient time to prepare a timetable.

Numbers will cost £16 for the 4 events.  Please save your number to use at all fixtures.

Entry to the Steeplechase events will be £5 for each.
