The English Schools Race Walking Championships used to be road event organised as a team competition in the same way as cross country championships are organised. It is now an individual track event but still, like cross country, with no set qualifying standards.
With only a few active walkers they are not competing for a limited number of places in the SYSAA team. Selection to represent the SYSAA at the ESAA Race Walking Championships is made on the basis of athletes’ achievements in recognised competitions throughout the season.
The SYSAA Race Walking representative will keep in contact with the athletes throughout the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
