The map below shows the course for the 2nd race in this year’s South Yorkshire Road Race League. There has been a change to the start and finish compared to the previous 2 years. The start will be on the junction of Mill Lane and Annat Royd Lane, this is the far end of the dam wall on Ingbirchworth Reservoir (the opposite end to the Fountain Inn, see attached map) The finish will be towards the bottom of the hill on Annat Royd Lane, just before you reach the reservoir again. There’s a track on the elbow of Annat Royd Lane that runners can filter down after crossing the finish line.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race will start at 19:00 on Wednesday 15th April.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking<\/strong>\u00a0is available on left hand side of Falledge Lane, which is the road to Upper Denby from\u00a0Ingbirchworth\u00a0off the main A629. Some parking is also available in the village of Ingbirchworth but not in the pub car park or on the dam wall which is quite a narrow road. Please don’t park on the course itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toilets and Baggage:<\/strong> Portable toilets will be located near the start on Mill Lane and at the finish on Annat Royd Lane. We can also use the toilets at the Fountain Inn but please be mindful of diners using the pub and show them respect. A baggage area with a marshall will be available\u00a0in the cabins next to the entrance to the Fountain Inn. Any valuables will be left at your own risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Course<\/strong>\u00a0is left handed, you will be directed at each junction by marshals on the course. A lead car will direct the lead runners. Please keep to the left unless instructed\u00a0by marshals at the only right turn on the course. The course is a flatter start following the reservoir on your right. It then climbs for about 1.4 miles before turning left at the junction of Brown’s Edge Road and Whitley Road. The next 1.8 miles is along\u00a0the ridge that is Whitley Road, the course starts to go downhill as you approach the windmills on your left.\u00a0 At 3.75 miles the route turns left up Royd Moor Hill\u00a0to the view point\u00a0on your right. You will then\u00a0be directed left down Spicer House Lane before turning right down Annat Royd Lane. It’s then a fast half mile downhill to the finish on the elbow of Annat Royd, before you reach the reservoir at the bottom of the hill.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After crossing the finish line please filter away from the finish line down the track beyond the finish which then leads to the road back to the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Race<\/strong>: The Fountain Inn will be open for food and drinks after the race. It may be an idea to book food prior to the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
